Who we are

Cadence is a vocal-training web app operated by Harbour Studios Limited, a company registered in Guernsey (number 74218). For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact privacy@cadencetutor.com. Harbour Studios Limited is the data controller for the personal data described below.

What we collect, and why

• Your account. Your email address, a username, and a password (which we store only as a secure one-way hash, never in readable form). We need these to create and run your account and to send you essential emails such as a password reset.
• Practice measurements. When you use the trainer, warm-ups or record a song take, your device analyses your singing locally and sends us only the resulting numbers – things like how cleanly notes started, how steady your pitch was, and your range. These let us show your progress over time. They contain no audio and no recording of your voice.
• Coaching requests. When you ask for written coaching on a take, those same numbers (and nothing else) are sent to our AI provider to generate the feedback text. Your audio is never sent.
• Basic technical data. Aggregate, anonymous website analytics (page views, referrers, country, load speed) with no cookies and no personal identifiers.

What we do not collect

We do not collect or store your audio recordings. Song takes are saved only in your own browser’s storage on the device you recorded them on. We do not use advertising trackers, we do not build profiles of you across other sites, and we never sell your data.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. It is strictly necessary for the app to work and, under UK and Guernsey law, does not require consent. Our analytics are cookieless. Because we set no non-essential cookies, there is no cookie consent banner.

Who processes your data for us

We use a small number of trusted providers (sub-processors) to run the service:

• Cloudflare – hosting, security and cookieless analytics.
• Resend – sending transactional emails such as password resets.
• Anthropic – generating coaching text from your practice numbers (audio is never sent).

These providers may process data outside Guernsey and the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards apply.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, it enters a seven-day grace period (so an accidental deletion can be undone), after which it and its associated data are permanently purged by an automated daily process. Your on-device recordings are yours to delete at any time from your own device.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. You can delete your account yourself at any time from the account screen. To exercise any other right, email privacy@cadencetutor.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Authority in Guernsey, or to your local data-protection regulator (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).

Children

Cadence is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app grows. We will change the “last updated” date above, and for significant changes we will let account holders know.
