Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Cadence, a vocal-training web app operated by Harbour Studios Limited (“we”, “us”), a company registered in Guernsey (number 74218). By using Cadence you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use the app.

The service

Cadence provides tools to practise and measure your singing – a live pitch display, warm-ups, a trainer, and song takes with optional written coaching. We offer it on an “as is” and “as available” basis, and we may change, add or remove features as it develops.

Who can use Cadence

You must be at least 13 years old to use Cadence, and at least 18 to buy a subscription. If you are under 18, please use it with a parent or guardian’s knowledge. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will close it and delete its data.

Your account

You can use much of Cadence without an account. If you create one, you’re responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity under your account, and you agree to give accurate registration details. Tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised.

Acceptable use

Please use Cadence only for its intended purpose. Don’t attempt to break, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, don’t use it unlawfully, and don’t try to circumvent usage limits (such as the weekly coaching allowance) or access other users’ data.

Free and paid features

Every practice tool in Cadence is free, including unlimited song takes, the full analysis on each one, and a written summary of that analysis. Written AI coaching is limited on the free tier: a set number of reports, after which each take shows a short extract instead. A premium subscription removes that limit; current prices are on our pricing page. Any feature that costs money will be clearly marked as such before you pay, and you will never be charged without your explicit agreement.

When you buy a subscription, the payment is handled by Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle is the seller for that transaction and is responsible for the payment, your receipt, and any VAT or sales tax due where you live; their terms apply to the payment itself. Your recordings and data

Your voice recordings stay on your own device and remain yours – we don’t receive or claim any rights over them. The practice measurements your device sends us are used only to provide the service to you (showing your progress and generating your coaching), as described in our Privacy Policy.

Material you upload

Some features let you bring your own material into Cadence – a song title, and in future a piece of sheet music. You keep ownership of anything you upload, and we don’t claim any rights over it beyond what we need to run the feature you asked for.

In return, you confirm that you have the right to use the material you bring in. Most published songs and printed scores are protected by copyright, and uploading a copy you aren’t licensed to use may infringe someone’s rights. Uploading material for your own private practice is generally what this feature is for; it is not a way to copy, share or distribute scores. We may remove uploaded material and, where the problem is serious or repeated, close the account behind it.

Our intellectual property

The Cadence software, design, name and branding belong to Harbour Studios Limited. These terms don’t give you any right to copy, resell or reuse them beyond ordinary use of the app.

Not medical or professional advice

Cadence is a practice tool, not a substitute for a singing teacher or medical advice. Its measurements and coaching are for guidance only. If you experience vocal pain, strain or discomfort, stop and seek advice from a qualified teacher or a doctor.

Availability and liability

We work to keep Cadence running well but can’t guarantee it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, and we don’t guarantee any particular improvement in your singing. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data you could reasonably have kept a copy of. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending your use

You can stop using Cadence and delete your account at any time from the account screen. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, and disputes are subject to the Guernsey courts.
